We’re extremely pleased to have been selected as finalist for the 2023 Benchmark “Alarm/Detection Innovation” Award for the CarDefender; an industry first, combined technology device.
Recognising the worrying rate at which vehicle theft has been increasing over the last couple of years, we set out to develop a steadfast solution. Conferring with security industry professionals and having conducted thorough market research, we determined a one of a kind, brand-new-to-market product that works in conjunction with existing Pyronix systems was the way forward – and, so, the CarDefender was created.
The revolutionary device connects with the home alarm system when in wireless range of the control panel to deliver immediate notification, straight to the user’s mobile phone via HomeControl2.0 in the event of an attempted theft; allowing preventative action to be taken as soon as possible.
The CarDefender features a three axis accelerometer and is configurable with three detection modes. It can be set to detect shock or tilt, triggering for shock only, tilt only, or if either shock or tilt is detected. These detection modes identify shock or movement caused by intruders attempting to gain entry to the vehicle or movement of the steering wheel, for example.
Vehicles are often parked away from properties, so we’ve developed the device with this in mind. The CarDefender is added to the system as an unsupervised zone, enabling it to be driven outside of the wireless range without causing fault. By allocating it to an area of its own, the device adheres to all necessary standards and protocols to enable the full system to remain Grade 2 compliant. When returning to the property, the device wakes within 10 minutes or this can be manually done by the user, using the handy Back to Home button on the front of the device.
What’s more, the CarDefender is a particularly versatile solution as it delivers for multiple use cases. With its conformally coated PCB (ideal for changeable environments), a specially designed, brightly-coloured silicone rubber mount and the option to secure with the 3M tape provided, the device can be fitted to a range of assets including vans, caravans, bikes, motorcycles and more.
Our dedicated teams have worked hard to develop a solution to vehicle theft that works flexibly for end-users and presents installers with new sales opportunities, delivering a competitive advantage to help them grow and achieve. We are thrilled to be recognised for the innovation associated with this product as it’s exactly what we set out to accomplish.
All of our product releases are aimed at offering installers more innovative solutions, including our recent standalone range, which offers installers independent solutions to help them standout from competitors and convert more business.
Our standalone solutions offer something unique; because, while they function on their own, they can also be integrated into the full system. This means installers are able to win smaller sales visits and build customer relationships with an initial product offering and create greater opportunity to upsell the full system and integrate at a later date.
One such product is our DoorbellCam, which has also been given finalist status at the 2023 Benchmark Awards in the “Visitor Management Innovation” category!
The DoorbellCam is our outdoor, wire-free Wi-Fi camera, which operates as a standalone device or with the alarm system. It offers main-entrance protection with Full-HD video, 130° wide-angle view, motion detection, real-time notifications and a push-to-talk function, so users can monitor, see and speak with visitors straight from our HomeControl2.0 app.
As we advance further into the IoT security market and continue to develop our standalone security range with products like the DoorbellCam, it’s a really exciting to be recognised for the inventive solutions we have brought to market to provide installers with progressive, pioneering security products and solutions.
Thank you for choosing us as 2023 finalists, Benchmark – and congratulations to all of this year’s finalists!
Voting remains open until the 2nd of October and we would be delighted to receive your vote.
