ARC REGISTRATION

DUAL PATH ARC SIGNALLING

The following sections are a step-by-step tutorial on programming the signalling from the control panel to the central station when using the dual path communications module. This tutorial can be used as guideline for other modules but programming would change slightly when specifying the communications module used in the panel.

Click here to jump to manual ARC registration.

Click here to jump to automatic ARC registration.

Please note: Do not try to register to the ARC before programming the signalling menu.

Programming ARC Signalling

Enter the Engineer Menu and press until the control panel displays the main menu item ‘COMMUNICATIONS?’. Press

The sub menu ‘App Set-Up?’ will now be displayed.

Press until 'ARC Signalling?' is shown then press .

Using and , select 'ARC1 Main' then press .

Select the module type that is being used to signal and press .

The format to be signalled must be specified. Once the format has been selected, press . The options for this are:

  • [148] SIA IP
  • [149] Contact ID IP

Use , , and to enter the areas that are to be signalled to the ARC. Press once complete.

If each area has an individual ARC account change this to 'Yes' otherwise, press to continue.

Enter the ARC account that will be used to identify signals from that control panel. Once entered, press .

Redials are the number of times the panel will retry to send the same signal to the ARC before moving on to the next event. Use the numerical keys to change this and then press .

Please note: The range is 00-15

Typically, 60 seconds is sufficient to send an IP signal so this does not need changing. Press .

Please note: The range is 00-99

If test calls to the ARC are not required, leave this option as 'No' then press .

Choose the event types that are to be signalled to the ARC then press .

Please note: For a full list of the event types and the pre-sets please refer to control panel manual.

The details are now complete. press .

Manually Registering to the ARC

Press to start programming the registration details.

Use and to select the communication path required to signal to the ARC then press . The options are:

  • Ethernet
  • Cellular
  • Ether/Cellu
  • Cellu/Ether

Please note: Ether/Cellu and Cellu/Ether are not the same. Ether/Cellu regards Ethernet as the primary path and cellular as the secondary path. Cellu/Ether is the inverse.

Select which path to program using and then press .

Please note: Path 1 is the primary path chosen in the last option and path 2 is the secondary path. It is recommended to register path 1 first.

Press to change 'ARC URI?' to 'ARC IP Address?'. Press .

Use the numerical keys to enter the IP address of the ARC then press .

Use the numerical keys to enter the 'ARC Sign Up Port' then press .

Carry on with standard registration by pressing .

Please note: For automatic registration, press first then .

The options for 'Security' are:

  • [0] Standard
  • [1] High

High security will automatically generate a 32 digit ARC password, in the majority of cases this is not required. Press .

Enter the password given from the ARC using the numerical keys to enter letters and numbers. To move the cursor, use and . To delete any errors, move the cursor underneath the error and press . If capital letters are required, press when the cursor is underneath the letter. Press to move on.

Enter the connection handle given from the ARC using the numerical keys and to cycle through the available letters if required. Once completed, press .

Please note: This must be a 12 digit numerical code.

Once all the details are entered, press to connect.

Press .

Wait whilst the panel registers to the ARC. Once registered, the control panel will display a message to indicate that it has been successful, the message is cleared by pressing .

The control panel will now return to 'Register to ARC?' .

If both paths are being used on the DIGI-DUAL, change 'ARC Path Sign Up' to 'Path 2 using then repeat the process for the second path.

Automatically Registering to the ARC

For automatic registration, press first then .
