Daisy Chain | 菊花链

A daisy chain is a wiring scheme in which multiple devices are wired together in sequence or in a ring.

The unit used to measure sound level, but it is also widely used in electronics, signals and communication. The dB is a logarithmic way of describing a ratio. The ratio may be power, sound pressure, voltage or intensity or several other things.

Delay Zone | 延时防区

One or more sensors in an alarm circuit that are wired so that, when triggered, a specific time delay results before an alarm condition is generated. Delay zones are often created for the most frequently used exit and entry doors toallow for sufficient lime for normal entry and exit without causing alarm conditions

Detector | 探测器

Any alarm device that can be connected to a security system to provide notification of an alarm event to the control panel. Door/window contacts, motion detectors, break glass detectors, and smoke detectors are some of the most common detectors found on a security system.

Different Microwave Frequencies | 多种微波频率

Avoids interference (cross-talk) that can occur when two detectors with microwave modules using the same frequency are installed within close proximity of each other. This optimises detector stability and increases performace.

Digi Logic | 数字逻辑

Digi Logic is a newly developed digital type of signal processing where the signal rise time is digitally analysed from its normal quiescent state, comparing the rise and fall times of the PIR signal. The detector can differentiate between slow meandering signals which are received through slow moving air currents or pets, and fast rising signals which are received through true intruder movement.

Digital Dialler | 数码拨号器

A device that electronically dials through the phone line to the monitoring facility ensures that contact has been made, and sends an electronic message indicating alarm activation low battery, arming/disarming etc.

Digital Temperature Compensation | 数字温度补偿

The sensor digitally adjusts the sensitivity of the detector to maintain its specified range when the background temperature is close to body temperature.

Digital Video Recorder (DVR) | 数字视频录像机

A device that receives and records images from video cameras, allowing the footage to be viewed from a monitor, computer or smart device.

DIP Switches | 拨码开关

A DIP switch is a manual electric switch that is packaged with others in a group in a standard dual in-line package (DIP). The term may refer to each individual switch, or to the unit as a whole. This type of switch is designed to be used on a printed circuit board along with other electronic components and is commonly used to customize the behavior of an electronic device for specific situations.

Disarm | 撤防

The act of turning your security system off, so that the control panel will no longer alarm when sensors are triggered.

Dispatch | 派遣

The act of calling in an alarm event to the proper authorities. Monitoring Center operators are the ones typically doing the dispatch.

Display | 显示

The screen on the alarm panel or keypad for operating and programming the panel.

Double End of Line Wiring (DEOL) | 双线尾电阻接线

A method of wiring inputs into the control panel. The wiring circuit would incorporate two EOL resistors so that the control panel can distinguish between tamper, normal and alarm states.

Pyronix Default: 2k2 tamper / 4k7 alarm.

Double Knock | 双报警

This is an attribute can be enabled on each singular input. If enabled, an alarm will be generated if the input is triggered twice within the pre-programmed time window or if the input remains active for that period.

Double Pole Wiring | 双极布线

Double pole wiring or 'closed loop' wiring is a basic form of wiring where the tamper and intruder circuits will be separate loops. When one of them is broken, the panel can then determine whether it is a tamper of intruder alarm.

Dual Antenna | 双天线

Using dual antenna technology reduces the risk of ‘dead spots’ occurring, enabling the device to switch to the antenna with the best signal strength. This keeps the system secure and stable throughout the life of its installation, reducing the impact of external disturbances.

Dual Com (Dual Communications) | 双通讯

When an intruder alarm has two methods where it can signal out such as GPRS and LAN, it is often referred to as 'Dual Com', or having dual communications. Generally the intruder alarm would be signalling to a central station or an ARC.

Dual Frequency | 双频率

If a device is referred to as being "dual frequency", the control panel has the capability to switch wireless frequencies if the one it is using is jammed. In order for the installation to switch frequency, every wireless device must be dual frequency enabled.

Dual Technology | 双鉴技术

Consisting of both a Passive Infrared Receiver (PIR) and microwave sensor in one housing, both sensors need to be activated simultaneously to get an alarm condition

Dual-Vision Pet Immunity | 双视野宠物免疫

The two PIRs have a dedicated volumetric field of view. The top PIR detects outwards and up, while the bottom PIR detects outwards and down, without either crossing the central horizontal plane between them. This set up of non-overlapping PIR sensors alongside Tri-Signal Detection Logic, delivers highly secure sequential detection and increases its tolerance to pet immunity.

Duress Alarm | 挟持警报

A system that reports the presence of one or more persons trying to force an individual to enter, or reenter, a facility against the individual's will. Although the triggering devices for hold-up, duress, and panic alarms are often the same or similar, police response may differ. A duress alarm, for example, may be designed to detect and silently report an employee being forced back into a protected facility to provide access to a safe, vault, drug storage area, or area containing confidential records. The intent is generally not to make the criminal aware that a call for help is being triggered to the monitoring facility. In a residential environment, a duress alarm could signal an abduction or rape attempt.

A duress alarm can also be considered as a medical alarm/emergency.
