Radio Backup | 无线电备份
Technology that allows for the installation of a radio alarm backup system without telephone lines. This would a second signalling path that would act as a backup to send alarm signals by radio to the central surveillance monitoring station if the PSTN telephone line is not available.
Radio Signal Coding | 无线电信号编码
Maintains a secure, non-manipulable transmission of signals between the alarm centre and their components.
Reed Switch | 磁簧开关
A magnetically-activated, hermetically sealed sensor.
Relay | 继电器
A relay is an electrically operated switch.
Remote Access | 远程访问
Access to the panel and it's programming when the engineer is not on site with panel.
Remote Maintenance | 远程维护
Using InSite software, being able to diagnose and test the panel's operations whilst in a remote location.
Reset | 重置
A return to normal operation for an alarm system that has been in a trouble condition, out of service, or in an alarm condition. When a system has been reset, it is back in full operation and subsequent signals received from the system will be treated normally.
Restore | 复位
A system, zone, or sensor that is returned to normal status. This does not necessarily mean that the alarm system is considered to be back to full operating status by the monitoring facility.
RJ31
A special telephone jack used to allow equipment (typically security systems) to seize immediate control of the phone line even if that phone line was in use.
Roller Shutter | 卷帘门磁
A roller shutter contact commonly just called a "Roller Shutter" is one that detects when an upwards opening door moves. When the door is opened and the shutter goes up, it detects the movement (as the contacts open) and triggers an alarm.
RS232
In telecommunications, RS-232 is a standard for serial communication transmission of data. It formally defines the signals connecting between a data terminal equipment such as a computer terminal, and a data circuit-terminating equipment or data communication equipment, such as a modem.
RS485
RS485 is a standard defining the electrical characteristics of drivers and receivers for use in serial communications systems. Virtually all alarm systems use a RS485 data bus to connect all wired components that need to communicate with the endstation.
