Panic Alarm | 紧急警报
A alarm generated by an individual who feels threatened.
Panic Button | 紧急按钮
A manually activated device that when pressed, causes an alarm event regardless of whether or not the security system is armed or unarmed.
Partition | 分区
A partition is an area of the system that can be armed independently. All partitions can be armed simultaneously or individually.
Part-Set | 部分布防
This is when a part of the whole system is set but some of the sensors need to be omitted. This is typically used in domestic installations i.e. Night Set.
Passcode | 密码
A personal code that you enter into your alarm system via the control panel to arm and disarm your system. You should always keep your passcode confidential.
Passive Infrared (PIR) Sensor | 被动红外传感器
A passive infrared (PIR) sensor is an electronic sensor that measures infrared (IR) light radiating from objects in its field of view. All objects with a temperature above absolute zero emit heat energy in the form of radiation. Usually this radiation isn't visible to the human eye because it radiates at infrared wavelengths, but it can be detected by electronic devices designed for such a purpose.
Perimeter | 周界
The continuous line forming the border of a property, the outermost parts or boundary of an area or object.
Perimeter Protection | 周界防护
Protection that covers access to the property. This includes front doors, terrace doors, cellar doors, skylights and all windows; generally used here are contact sensors, glass breakage detectors and shock sensors.
Personal Emergency Response System | 个人急情响应系统
A device worn around your neck or wrist containing a button that when pushed connects you to a Monitoring Center operator that can summon medical help for you.
Personal Identification Number (PIN) | 个人验证号码
A personal code that you enter into your alarm system via the control panel to arm and disarm your system. You should always keep your passcode confidential.
Pet Immune (PI) | 宠物免疫
The detectors intelligent Pet Immune (PI) technology analyses the difference between an intruder and a pet signal, with immunity up to 24kg, under approximately 1 metre and 10m coverage range.
PGM Output | 可编程输出
A PGM output is a programmable output. They are programmed to trigger when a specific event has occurred or when a defined criteria is met. Typical examples are; to open garage doors, trigger external sounders or release magnetic contacts on doors depending on their output type and wiring.
Photo-Electric Beam | 红外对射探测器
A sensor that detects the blocking of a beam of invisible light between two or more points.
Piezoelectric Sensor | 压电传感器
A piezoelectric sensor is a device that uses the piezoelectric effect, to measure changes in pressure, acceleration, temperature, strain, or force by converting them to an electrical charge.
Plane | 平面
The amount of planes is determined by how many horizontal and vertical angles the PIR can detect when viewed from the side.
Polarity | 极性
The property or characteristic that produces unequal physical effects at different points in a body or system, as a magnet or storage battery.
Poll | 轮询
A poll is a minute amount of data sent periodically by a device to indicate to its supervisor that it is still activate and has a valid signal.
Power Supply Unit (PSU) | 电源单元
A device that provides power to the installation or component.
Pressure Pad | 压力板
A sensor that detects an increase or decrease in pressure (such as a person standing on the pad or an object being removed from the pad).
Pre-Wire | 预接线
The installation of wiring in a property before the drywall is installed during new construction.
Printed Circuit Board (PCB) | 印刷电路板
A PCB mechanically supports and electrically connects electronic components using conductive tracks, pads and other features etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate.
Programming | 编程
Detailed settings for alarm panel to match user requirements and wishes e.g. specify inputs, areas, codes.
Proprietary System | 专有系统
When a monitoring facility is located within the building or complex that includes the protected premises.
Proximity Reader | 读卡器
A proximity reader uses a magnetic field in a order to read a code embedded in a proximity card or tag. This data is sent to the control panel which will allow the user to either access the area or set the panel depending on what the permissions for that particular user are.
Proximity Sensor | 接近传感器
A proximity sensor is a sensor able to detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact. It does this by emitting an electromagnetic field or a beam of electromagnetic radiation (infrared, for instance), and looks for changes in the field or return signal. The object being sensed is often referred to as the proximity sensor's target.
Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) | 公共交换电话网
The PSTN consists of telephone lines, fiber optic cables, microwave transmission links, cellular networks, communications satellites, and undersea telephone cables, all interconnected by switching centers, thus allowing most telephones to communicate with each other. Originally a network of fixed-line analog telephone systems, the PSTN is now almost entirely digital in its core network and includes mobile and other networks, as well as fixed telephones.
In an alarm system, this is a method (albeit outdated) of sending signals to an ARC or a TAP server.
Pulse Count | 脉冲计数
This is an adjustable feature to determine the number of times the detector needs to be triggered before an alarm activation is indicated to the panel.
