This can be used to describe many different things in an alarm system and/or electronics. Two of the main uses of it in an alarm system are:
- The signalling PCB inside the panel. Any signalling PCB that is PSTN is called a modem whereas all the other mediums are modules.
- The part of a dual technology detector that emits the microwave frequency.
用来描述报警系统内和/或电子设备中许多的不同事物，它在报警系统内两个主要用途是：
- 主机内的信号发送PCB。任何信号发送PCB除了PSTN叫做调制调节器外，其他媒介都叫做模块
- 双鉴探测器内发射微波频率的部分
